In 1996, Marcus Strohner founded TRUST Mannheim, one of the first specialised piercing studios in the city of squares. At that time, there was hardly any access to the Internet and online shops for piercing jewellery did not yet exist. Instead, interested parties exchanged ideas at events and trade fairs. While searching for high-quality piercing jewellery and the right tools in what was then a fairly manageable market, Marcus quickly realised that he had to get creative himself in order to create something special for his everyday piercing routine. Many customers, friends and fellow competitors in the industry therefore liked to call Marcus the "Gyro Gearloose" of the piercing industry!
He determinedly implemented his ideas in his own workshop in the basement, developed numerous TRUST tools, modified jewelry variants and created the first prototypes for Dermal Anchor and Skindiver.
